The Journey into Robotics

Williamson's journey into robotics began in college, where she studied computer science and engineering. After graduating, she worked as a software engineer for several years before deciding to pursue her passion for robotics. She enrolled in a master's program in robotics at the University of California, Berkeley, and it was there that she developed the idea for Tinker Robotales.

"I was frustrated with the lack of hands-on robotics education available to kids," Williamson says. "I wanted to create a kit that would make learning about robotics fun and accessible for everyone." Tinker Robotales was born out of that frustration.

The Challenges of Being a Woman in Robotics

Williamson is one of a relatively small number of women in the field of robotics. She has faced challenges and discrimination throughout her career, but she has never let that stop her from pursuing her dreams.

"It's definitely been a challenge being a woman in robotics," Williamson says. "I've been underestimated and dismissed more times than I can count. But I've also found a lot of support from other women in the field. We're a small but growing community, and we're here to stay."

The Future of AI

Williamson is optimistic about the future of AI. She believes that AI has the potential to solve some of the world's most pressing problems, such as climate change and poverty. However, she also recognizes the importance of using AI responsibly.

"AI is a powerful tool," Williamson says. "It's important that we use it for good. We need to make sure that AI is used to benefit all of humanity, not just a privileged few."
