Diary of a Provincial Lady: Macmillan Collector Library 77
By E.M. Delafield
The Diary of a Provincial Lady is a series of humorous and insightful diary entries written by E.M. Delafield. First published in 1930, the diary entries chronicle the daily life of a middle-aged woman living in a small town in England. The Provincial Lady is a keen observer of human nature, and her diaries are filled with witty and often acerbic comments on the people and events around her.
The Provincial Lady is a complex and contradictory character. She is intelligent and well-educated, but she is also snobbish and judgmental. She is often critical of her neighbors, but she is also capable of great kindness and compassion. The Provincial Lady is a product of her time and place, but her diaries have a timeless appeal.
